I am an award
winning Pastellist. Formerly from the San Francisco
Bay Area, I now live in the Sierra Foothill
region of California east of Sacramento. My
art studio and Gallery, Sutter Street Pastels
is located in the historic district of Folsom,
CA (near Lake Natoma) My original Pastel paintings
and greeting cards are exhibited here. I offer
classes for children (two are award winning:
Sacramento County and California State Fair
awards) and adults in my studio.
The classes
are primarily in soft Pastel, the purest medium
an artist can use. I love the richness of the
medium, the fact it is made of pure pigment,
the spontaneous nature of how it is applied,
the ease of color layering and achieving the
look I want through Optical Blending. Pastel
was the choice of artists such as Edgar Degas,
Mary Cassatt and many many others.
